Wood flooring we install
Floormaster LLC installs every type of wood flooring available, and we build flush-mount vents right into your floor. Wood flooring comes in many shapes, sizes, species and types of construction, and the best choice depends on your lifestyle, your decorating style, and your home's construction and subfloor.
Solid wood flooring
Solid wood flooring will last a lifetime. It is one solid piece of wood with tongue-and-groove sides, available factory-finished or unfinished. It is nailed down to a subfloor and belongs in a room that is at ground level or above. If you want a wider plank, Floormaster can source flooring milled from exotic species, in planks as wide as 14 inches.
Solid factory-finished floors
As the name implies, this flooring is sanded and finished during manufacturing, then installed. It has a couple of real advantages over the unfinished approach: the job length is cut by half or more, and there are no finishing fumes. Keep in mind that prefinished boards have beveled edges, and we hear from customers that dirt, food and pet hair can collect in the bevels. Site-finished floors are completely smooth, with no bevels.
Engineered flooring
Engineered wood flooring is an all-wood product made by pressing multiple layers of wood veneer together with the grains running in different directions. This cross-graining gives the floor good stability and allows it to be glued down over concrete, which makes it a strong choice for below-grade rooms where solid wood isn't suited.
Site-finished floors
Site-finished floors are installed raw, then sanded and finished right in your home. The job takes longer than a prefinished floor because of sanding, finishing and dry time, but you get a completely smooth surface with no bevels and a stain and sheen chosen to match your space.
Flush-mount vents
We build flush-mount vents directly into the floor so the wood surface reads as one continuous plane, instead of a metal register sitting proud of the boards. It is a small detail that makes a finished floor look custom.
