★★★★★
Another company left our hardwood uneven, with a hump over the load-bearing beam and bad boards. Brian from Floormaster assessed it and his team fixed all of it. I only wish I'd known about them from the start. I'm most grateful, and I highly recommend them.

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes. We come out to look at the space and give you a clear, no-obligation price before any work begins. Call or text (248) 342-0323 to set one up.

What is the difference between solid and engineered wood flooring?

Solid wood flooring is one solid piece of wood with tongue-and-groove sides, nailed to a subfloor at ground level or above, and it can be refinished many times over its life. Engineered flooring is built from multiple wood veneer layers cross-grained for stability, so it can be glued down over concrete. We install both and help you pick what fits your home and subfloor.

What is the difference between factory-finished and site-finished floors?

Factory-finished (prefinished) boards arrive already sanded and sealed, so a job goes in faster with no finishing fumes, but the planks have small beveled edges that can catch dirt and pet hair. Site-finished floors go down raw and we sand and finish them in your home, which takes longer but leaves a completely smooth surface and a finish you choose.

Can you refinish the hardwood floors I already have?

Often, yes. If the wood is sound, sanding and refinishing brings a worn or dated floor back for far less than a full replacement. We will tell you honestly whether refinishing or replacement makes more sense for your floor.

How long does a wood floor installation take?

A prefinished floor can go in within a day for many rooms. Site-finished work takes longer because of sanding, finishing and dry time. We give you a timeline along with your estimate.
